Dear Parent,

Our chosen charity this year is for ‘Ellie’s Retreat’.  As you will be aware, Ellie Nicholl was a pupil here at St. Patrick’s.  She was a very special little girl.  Ellie, very sadly, passed away during her P.4. year.  Ellie remains very important in our school, each Friday at assembly we pray for Ellie and to Ellie saying a specially adapted form of the ‘Angel of God’ prayer.

Next Tuesday, 27th June, we will have a ‘Pink Day’ in memory of Ellie.  Ellie loved the colour ‘pink’.  We ask all children to come to school wearing something coloured pink.  If anyone does not wish to do so we will provide him/her with a wee pink ribbon at school.  We will attempt to eat outside at lunch, weather dependent, to be close to Ellie’s Garden.  This garden was installed by parents a number of years ago in remembrance of Ellie.  This was an area in which she spent a lot of time.

We would be grateful for kind donations for Ellie’s Retreat, and we will pass these onto her parents who will join the school for a special assembly for Ellie on Tuesday 27th June.  We understand that the P.7. children will be attending their new schools on this day. Please put the donation into an envelope and mark it Ellie’s Retreat.  You can pass the envelope to the class teacher.

My Best Wishes,

Ms. O’Neill.
