Santa Sunday 2024
Dear Parent,
Santa Sunday was simply a beautiful event here at Mullanaskea. I wish to express my thanks to all involved in making this day so wonderful for the children.
Firstly, I wish to thank Santa for giving his valuable time to us at Mullanaskea at this very busy period in the year. As always, the children had their special moment with him, and it was lovely to see their anticipation and excitement.
Mrs. Christmas is the most fantastic raconteur and has the ability to keep the children enchanted. We must not forget the elf, Collette, who kept Santa on track all day.
The school was truly honoured to have Nathan Timoney along to warm the children up before the Tinsel Trail. Nathan is a past pupil. It only feels like yesterday when he was celebrating Christmas with us here. He is still our boy, a Mullanaskea boy and we could not be more proud of him. To have such a fantastic role model for children means a lot.
I always thank the P.T.A., but I cannot express how much they do and how important they are to the school. Not only do they give their time and energy, but they also are very good humoured. Again, this is such positive role modelling for the children. Minne Mouse was also brilliant!
To our staff who worked diligently all day: Mrs. O’Connor, Claire and Collette, I also say a big thank you. The craft fair also was beautifully organised and helped to add to the atmosphere.
To Linda Strawbridge and the P.S.N.I., I extend my thanks. Linda helped to keep the children safe and sound on the Tinsel Trail. To her and her team, we are very grateful.
Hugh Cleary transported the tables to and from Cavanacarragh Hall and he also helped to get Santa here. Santa’s sleigh is very unreliable, and this is not the first time he needed a lift! This year, he hitched a lift on Hugh’s combine harvester. A big thank you also to Brian McCaffrey and all at Cavanacarragh.
I want to thank you all for coming along to support our day. I hope the children had a lovely time. It is our pleasure to see their wee faces light up at Christmas time and to be part of their excitement at seeing Santa.
My Very Best Wishes,
Ms. O’Neill.
