Book Character Day
This year, Book Character Day is on Thursday 2nd March. Children can dress-up as their favourite book character. We will have a parade in the hall showing off all the outfits in the morning and the children will do some World Book Day activities in their classrooms in the afternoon.
P2 & P3 Trip
The Primary 2 and Primary 3 children will be travelling to Florencecourt House on Monday 6th March to participate in their Education Programme.
First Confession
The Primary 4 class will receive the Sacrament of First Confession on Tuesday 7th March in St. Joespeh's Church Cradien and 6:30pm.
Science Week
This year, Science Week starts on Monday 13th March. Information has given sent home with children in P5, P6 and P7. The information has also been uploaded to the school website.
P1 Trip
The Primary 1 class will be travelling to Florencecourt House on Wednesday 15th March to participate in their Education Programme. Further information will be sent home next week.
P6 & P7 Springfest
The Primary 6 and Primary 7 children will be travelling to Millennium Forum in Derry on Wednesday 22nd March to watch 'Springfest' from the EA Western Region Music Service. The concert will involve more than 200 young musicians performing in string, jazz, woodwind and brass ensembles, as well as the Senior Youth Orchestra. Further information will be sent home shortly.
P4 Trip
The P4 class will travel to Florencecourt House on Friday 31st March to participate in their Education Programme. Further information will be home home with the P4 children closer to the time.
Milk
There are still quite a few who have not sent in milk money for their term. If you have not already done so, please send in £15 (January-Easter) on Monday 6th March. If you would to check if you have or not, please contact Claire in the office. If your child would like to start or stop taking milk, please let us know.
Swimming
The Primary 6 and Primary 7 children will continue their swimming lessons each Tuesday (P6 in the morning and P7 in the afternoon). If you have not already sent in the money for the lessons (£15), please do so.
Eat Them To Defeat Them
The school is participating in the Eat Them to Defeat Them programme. You may have seen the advertisements on television. This programme lasts 6 weeks and their is a new challenge each week. This week's challenge is to try a new vegetable. The school has a chart on the wall of the dining hall and when a child tries a new vegetable, they colour in a picture on the chart. Children have also been going home with stickers this week when they eat their vegetables at dinner or if they have a healthy lunch. We ask that you encourage your children to try a new vegetable throughout the week at home.
Brass
Mr O'Hare will continue his brass lessons with children in P5, P6 & P7 each Tuesday.
Spanish
Davide will continue his Spanish lessons every Thursday.
Confucius
Confucius will also continue every Thursday throughout the month of March.
School Closures
The School will be closed for a Staff Development Day on Thursday 16th March. The School will also be closed on Friday 17th March for St. Patrick's Day. The School will reopen for everyone on Monday 20th March 2023.
