The school will be paying for these buses through school funds.
RDS Science Fair
The adjudication for the Primary 6 and Primary 7 Science Projects will take place on 4th June. They have worked put a lot of effort into their projects and we wish them the best of luck. In previous years, the children have travelled to Dublin to present their projects, however, this year they will be presenting through video link.
Cycling Proficiency
Cycling proficiency for the Primary 7 children will continue every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afterschool. The scheme will finish on Wednesday 16th June. All bicycles can be collected on this day.
Sports Day
Weather permitting, Sports Day will take place on Friday 11th June. Children can wear their PE kit to school. Please send in a potato and spoon with your child’s name clearly marked on it. Children will also need to bring water, sun-cream and a hat. In previous years, we have invited all our parents to join us on Sports Day and also take part in our Parent’s Races, however, due to Covid restrictions we are unable to extend this invitation safely. We will however be taking lots of photos and videos of the races and will be putting them up on our website throughout the day to keep you all up to date. Prize giving will take place directly after.
Prize-giving
If anyone has any trophies, cup or shields in their homes from previous prize-giving’s, please return them to the school as soon as possible.
Milk
Due to extended breaks and school closures because of Covid-19, there have been some changes to the milk payments. For those who have paid the full amount (£40) for the year, money will be carried over into next academic year. The money that has not been used for this year will cover the first term (September-December). For those who paid for this first term only (£15), payment is now due for this term. Please send in £10 on Monday 7th June. If you are unsure what you sent in at the start of the year, please email Claire on cbrannigan610@c2kni.net
Summer Scheme
Thank you to all those who showed their interest in our Summer Scheme. Our Summer Scheme will run from Friday 9th July until Friday 23rd. The Scheme is open for P4-P7 children. We have reached the number of children we are able to cater for, so this will not be offered to any of the other classes. We will be touch very soon to let all those who have expressed their interest know what will be happening on each day.
Reading Books
The School is in the process of spending thousands of pounds replenishing reading books that have not been returned since the lockdowns. With restraints on budgets of all schools in Northern Ireland, this is money that we had ear-marked for other projects. We are asking all children and parents to please look around your houses to see if you have any books belonging to the school and return them to us before the end of the year.
School Closures
The school will close at 12 noon on Wednesday 30th June 2021 for the summer break.
