First Holy Communion Thanks
Dear Parent,
Special congratulations are extended to all our P.4. children who celebrated their Holy Communion on Saturday. They read perfectly, sang perfectly, took their positions perfectly and their behaviour was exemplary. We are so proud of each of them.
A special thank you to Ms. McAloon who prepared the children in her own meticulous and precise way. Ms. McAloon takes her role very seriously and carries this responsibility with great honour. She is a credit, and we are all very thankful to her. To Mrs. Toal, who prepared the choir and to her daughter Lucy who played the music, I say a special thank you. There is nothing so beautiful as children’s choir, Mrs. Toal carried this off perfectly. To the choir, I thank you for being not only being brilliant but also being totally committed.
The tea party was just splendid. Everyone was in their finery and the cream cakes were in abundance. To Mrs. O’Connor, and her P.3. parents, who organised this huge event, all credit to each of you for your immense efforts. Mary Love, former parent, was just wonderful organising and serving on the day. Many P.3. parents also donated lots of food for the tea party, without this, we could not have coped. I believe it is more than getting a cup of tea. It provides the community link that is so important and allows the children to see their grandparents and other family members valued. It also gives the children a chance to meet up afterwards and have a wee play. Children will remember days like this when they are older and hopefully continue this sense of family and community values.
The Spring Clean Up organised by eco co-ordinator Mrs. Cox and Claire, along with so many of our parents and children was also vital in ensuring that the children’s day was special. It helps to give us all a sense of pride in taking care of the grounds and building: the place where young minds are formed and educated.
To our classroom assistants, I say a huge thank you. It is unfair to name any individual as they are the fabric upon which so much work is done, and they carry us all in many special ways. However, to Katie Stuart, the P.4. classroom assistant, I say a special thank you, to Ms. Kennedy for cleaning and do it all with such grace I say thank you, to Ms. Bogue who organised the sweeping of the school and to Mrs. Louden Brown whose artistic skills are always called upon to paint, decorate etc. Mrs. Maguire and her husband were also up strimming the outdoors, to both of them a huge ‘thank you’.
As always, to Claire in the office, a very special thank you for all her hard work before, during and after the Holy Communion. Claire does so much, a thank you seems light but Claire we all want you to know how much we appreciate everything you do.
Father Halton celebrated a lovely Mass. He asked me to pass on his compliments to the children, parents, grandparents, family members and staff.
We all hope that you enjoyed your special day with the children. It is our pleasure to be part of this experience.
My Thanks and Best Wishes to You All,
Ms. O’Neill.
