Dear Parent,

It is wonderful to see all of the children back at school. They are all in great form.

I just want to remind you about starting times, please ensure that your child arrives at the designated time. If you have a number of children, you can drop all of your children off at the earliest time identified. For example, if you have a P.1. who arrives at 8:45am and a P. 7 who arrives at 9:15am you may drop both children off at 8:45am. However, if this is not the case, I urge you to arrive at the designated time for your child’s class.   I understand this is difficult for many but please understand that we are trying to accommodate every child as safely as possible.

With regard to buses, the children who arrive by bus will be directed to their classrooms by the classroom assistant regardless of starting times. If your child travels home on a bus and his/her home time is before 3pm these children will safely be kept in school until the bus arrives at 3pm. There will be no need for you to collect them earlier.

I also ask you to drive slowly through the car park and not to park on the bus lanes. An accident only takes a moment to occur and the consequences could be very significant within a school. Please slow down.

This morning, we have experienced a number of queries about children who have symptoms of a cold. Under no circumstance can a child with any of these symptoms or any siblings be at school.

You must seek medical advice from your child’s doctor. Whilst the symptoms may simply be a cold we have no way of knowing for sure, and indeed it could be COVID 19. We have to be extremely careful as in the event of an outbreak the whole class would have to self-isolate. (Please see the letter that I issued to you on the school’s website 21st August 2020).

Please do not send a sick child to school regardless of how minor the symptoms may appear.

My Very Best Wishes to You All,

Ms. O’Neill.
